Ushers are an important part of the Eucharist Celebration at Saint Anthony Parish. The men and women who serve in this ministry are both hosts and housekeepers for the Lord’s Supper.
Ushers/greeters are men and women that are 16 years of age and older who serve as ministers of hospitality at all liturgical functions in the church. Individuals who are personable, reliable, spiritual, kind, organized, responsible, honest, and can think on their feet.
They greet arriving parishioners and guests, making them feel welcome. They assist in seating the congregation, taking the offertory collections, ensure the orderly distribution of the Eucharist and hand out bulletins at the end of Mass. They act as first responders if someone is in distress during Mass. They ensure that the Lord’s house is in order before, during and after the celebration of Mass.
